CARPENTRY.

Carpentry means wood and generally structural Timbers ,floors, beams, partitions and Roofing

Case Study

We were asked to inspect this kitchen floor in a terraced house in Monton Manchester On which a new kitchen was about to be fitted and looked in danger of collapse.

All the joist ends had suffered wet and dry rot, the previous owner had remedial work done that was totally inadequate causing the joists to sag to a point of callapse. The new owners had paid around £400 for a full structural survey and were never warned there was  a problem, they have now succesfully sued the surveyors.

Having removed the old floor we fitted new joists and flooring having treated the walls with anti-fungal fluid and excavated the damp soil replacing it with a concrete slab on a membrain.
